Bien que le programme soit très convivial, cette page contiendra un fichier d'aide, des explications d'installation et de fonctionnement, elle résumera également les questions posées par les utilisateurs du logiciel SIM-PSK31 ainsi que nos réponses.

Si vous pensez avoir constaté une anomalie et que vous prenez contact avec moi, essayez de décrire précisément le problème, et joignez le fichier texte contenant la date et l'heure de votre QSO... Ce fichier doit se trouver dans le même répertoire que le programme et porte un nom semblable à celui-ci :

Le fonctionnement du programme en mode SIM n'est pas encore totalement finalisé. Les problèmes que vous nous signalez sont résolus très rapidement par Nizar, le concepteur du logiciel.
Certains dysfonctionnements ne peuvent pas être éliminés aussi rapidement quand ils sont liés aux conditions d'utilisation. C'est là que les constatations des OM's peuvent aider à élaborer des solutions.

Si vous nous avez communiqué une idée d'amélioration du logiciel, si cette demande peut être programmée et si votre idée est utile pour la communauté radioamateur, elle sera conservée dans une liste et intégrée au logiciel, par ordre de priorité.

Questions / réponses

Lorsque j'utilise mon transceiver SDR FLEX-1500 avec le programme PowerSDR et le "virtual serial port emulator" que j'ai acheté chez Etherlogic, je n'ai pas la possibilité d'utiliser les commandes CAT.
Comment résoudre ce problème ?

En effet, "Flex Radio Systems" publie un article concernant les problèmes rencontrés avec certains programmes d'émulation de ports virtuels ;

Bonjour, quand je télécharge les fichiers .EXE et DLL de l'archive contenant le programme SIM31 (en fichier RAR), mon Norton antivirus me signale un rique potentiel : "ws.reputation.1 virus" pouvez-vous controler ?

D'après les informations trouvées sur internet, NORTON antivirus en version 2010 et 2012 Beta signalerait un virus inexistant "ws.reputation.1 virus" lors du téléchargement de fichiers compressés en .RAR. Il n'y a donc rien à craindre du programme SIM-PSK31, nous l'avons testé avec F-SECURE, avec NODE32 et avec AVAST qui ont confirmé que le programme n'est pas infecté.

Les paramètres personnels et station que j'ai choisis ne sont pas ceux qui sont transmis ; que se passe-t-il ?

Nous avons découvert un bug mais il a été corrigé, téléchargez la dernière version vous permettra de supprimer cette erreur.

Je n'arrive plus à décoder certaines stations qui transmettent pourtant en mode SIM . Que se passe-t-il ?

Une nouvelle version de varicode entrelacé a été dévelopée pour rendre le mode SIM encore plus fiable. Malheureusement, puisque ce code est entrelacé il n'est pas possible de garder la compatibilité avec les anciennes versions !
Veillez toujours à télécharger la dernière version, plus récente que v52xx Version actuelle de SIM_PSK31 : v7000 .

Quand je suis en mode SIM63, si je choisis une autre station, il repasse en SIM31 Est-ce normal ?

Quand vous voulez passer en mode SIM/PSK63, vous cliquez sur la trace avec le bouton droit. Pour répondre à une autre station en gardant le mode xxx63 c'est pareil, au lieu de cliquer avec le bouton gauche, utilisez le bouton droit.

Onglet TUNE : Nous trouvons que la durée du Tune est bien trop courte ; elle ne permet pas à nos boîtes d’accord automatique de s'accorder à l'antenne.

Si vous gardez le bouton gauche de la souris enfoncé sur l'onglet TUNE, il continue à tuner. Quand vous lachez le bouton, le tune s'arrête après 1 sec.

J'ai une trace très QRO mais je n'arrive pas à la décoder, que se passe-t-il ?

Il peut y avoir plusieurs raisons :
Soit vous n'êtes pas dans le bon mode, l'onglet REWIND vous signale en principe si vous devez commuter en mode PSK ou en mode SIM, mais il ne vous dit pas si c'est du 31 ou 63 Hz. Vous devez évaluer la largeur de bande, 31 ou 63 Hz sur le spectre.
Soit le diagramme de l'oeil vous montre un signal instable, une trace qui défile, et dans ce cas il s'agit d'un problème de synchronisation de la carte son qui peut-être dû à de mauvaises conditions de transmission.
Enfin, il est possible que le niveau audio soit règlé trop haut et qu'il y ait une saturation. Pour un décodage confortable, vous devez régler votre niveau audio entre 1/3 et la moitié de la hauteur du spectre, visible dans la fenêtre en dessous de l'écran.

Comment basculer du mode PSK / SIM31 au 63 ?

Au lieu de cliquer sur une trace avec le bouton gauche de la souris utilisez le bouton droit. Le curseur devient blanc en mode PSK/SIM63

...Il semble que le SIM31 soit stable, les modes PSK sont également stables, mais il semble qu'il y ait des problèmes de décodage pour le mode SIM63, comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo...

En général j'aime bien le terminal, mais sa configuration est un peu difficile. C'est drôle quand toutes les macros prédéfinies sont envoyées.

Merci pour ce logiciel, j'aime son concept.

Nous avons fait quelques essais ici et il n'a pas été possible de reproduire le même problème, que celui visible sur la capture d'écran, pourtant, je pense que j'ai probablement une explication en quelques points:

1 Votre écran indique que le niveau audio est très faible.
Vous devriez régler le volume (inp vol) un peu plus fort.
Avec le réglage audio utilisé, le décodage ne sera bon que pour les signaux forts.
2 Ceci est confirmé par le diagramme de l'œil, (courbes jaunes sur la droite de l'écran);
Un bon signal audio donne des losanges, avec des formes droites et stables.

3 À mon avis, si le mode SIM 63 n'est pas aussi bon que le SIM31 dans ce cas particulier, c'est parce que vous n'avez utilisé que 5 watts. Pour le SIM63, il faut plus de puissance pour obtenir la même performance.
Pour faire les choses simples, on pourrait dire que si la bande passante est 2 fois plus large (31 à 63 Hz), vous devriez envoyer 2 fois plus de puissance pour recevoir le même signal dans le récepteur ... donc je pense que 5 watts, (dans ce cas précis, et avec cette propagation) devient probablement trop peu pour faire un QSO confortable entre vos deux pays.

According to informations found on the internet, Norton antivirus 2010 and 2011 Beta could warn you with a nonexistent "ws.reputation.1 virus" when you download a compressed .RAR file. So there is nothing to fear from the SIM-PSK31 RAR archive, we tested with F-SECURE, with NODE32 and with AVAST They have confirmed that the program is not infected.

A new version of interleaved varicode was designed to make the SIM mode even more reliable. Unfortunately, since this code is interlaced it is no more possible to keep compatibility with old versions!

When I'm in SIM63, if I choose another station, it switches back to SIM31 Is this normal?

When you want to switch to SIM/PSK63, you click on the trace with the right mouse button. To answer another station while keeping mode xxx63, it's the same, instead of clicking with the left mouse button, use the right button.

While using this tab "TUNE", we think the duration of the Tune is too short, it does not give time to our antenna tuners to find the correct setting.

If you hold down the left button of the mouse on the tab TUNE, the PTT stays ON continuously. When you release the button, the PTT switches off after 1 sec.

I have a strong trace on my screen, but I can not decode it, what's going on?

There may be several reasons:
Either you are not in the correct mode, The tab "REWIND" notifies you in principle if you need to switch from PSK to SIM mode, but it does not tell you if it's 31 or 63 Hz . You must evaluate the bandwidth, 31 or 63 Hz on the spectrum.
Either the eye diagram shows an unstable signal, a trace gliding continuously, and in this case there is a synchronization problem of the sound card that may be due to bad transmission conditions ; maybe a malfunction of the sound card .
Finally, it is possible that the audio level is set too high and there is a saturation. For a comfortable decoding, you should set your audio level between 1/3 and half the height of the spectrum window, displayed below the screen.

How to switch from mode PSK / SIM31 to 63 ?

Instead of clicking on a trace with the left mouse button, just use right button. The cursor turns white when in mode PSK/SIM63

...It seems the SIM31 is stable, the PSK modes are also stable, but it seems there are some decoding problems inside the SIM63 mode, as you can see on the picture...

Generally I like the terminal, but its configuration is a bit difficult. It is funny when a lot predefined macro texts are sended .

...We made some tests here and it has not been possible to reproduce the same problem as the one shown on your screen capture ; nevertheless, I think I have probably an explanation in 3 points :

1 Your screen shows that the audio level is very low. You should set up your audio level ( inp vol ) a little more louder.
With your audio setting, the decoding will be good only for strong signals.

2 This is confirmed by the eye diagram, ( yellow curves on the right of screen) ;
A good audio signal gives some lozenges, with straight and stable shapes.

3 In my opinion, if SIM 63 mode is not as good as SIM31 in this particular case, it's because you have only used 5 watts. For SIM63, it needs more power to obtain the same performance .
To make it easier, we could say that if the band-width is 2 times wider,
( from 31 to 63 Hz ) you should have to send 2 times more power, to receive the same signal into the receiver...
So I think 5 watts ( in this case and with this propagation ) becomes probably too weak for a comfortable QSO between your country and France.

About your last remark : to configure the program, a HELP file in PDF format will soon be available on the site.
